05-03-2008 | Photo of the week is new, we will show one photo every week that impressed us the most. Post in the forum if you have suggestions!
27-01-2008 | We recently added the Military Dictionary US to Underground3k. This 40+ pages big dictionary explains all used words of the US Army. Over 5000 words are listed at the moment!
We have also improved the forum, now we only need some people to post in it. Currently Underground3k is a info database, so many people find us, check the info and then leave. We would like to improve the "community" idea so if you are a military fan, sign up and start posting!
Today is the day that the Dutch people remember the deaths caused be the Second World War. Tomorrow the Dutch people will celebrate the liberation of the Germans, this is celebrated with numerous open-air concerts and massive parties.

Russian fighter shot down unmanned Georgian spy plane
TBILISI, Georgia - A Russian fighter jet has shot down an unmanned Georgian spy plane as it flew over the breakaway region of Abkhazia, Georgia's air force commander said Monday.
The two countries' presidents discussed the incident by telephone Monday in what Georgian leader Mikhail Saakashvili termed a "difficult conversation."

'Forgotten' VC heroes remembered
Two "forgotten" World War I heroes who both came from the same south Wales town and were both awarded the Victoria Cross are finally to be remembered.
Sgt Samuel Pearse and Capt Richard Wain were awarded Britain's highest gallantry medal for their actions in the conflict which claimed their lives.

Military automated robots will be a thread to humanity according expert
Increasingly autonomous, gun-totting robots developed for warfare could easily fall into the hands of terrorists and may one day unleash a robot arms race, a top expert on artificial intelligence told AFP.
"They pose a threat to humanity," said University of Sheffield professor Noel Sharkey ahead of a keynote address Wednesday before Britain's Royal United Services Institute.
Intelligent machines deployed on battlefields around the world -- from mobile grenade launchers to rocket-firing drones -- can already identify and lock onto targets without human help.

The Armed Forces want to redistribute 850 million
The Armed Forces yesterday requested the Government's approval to redistribute SEK 200 million from the materiel and installations allocation, and SEK 100 million from the research and development allocation, to the sum allocated for unit operations. The request was communicated verbally to the Ministry of Defence in the beginning of january.

CHARLESTON, S.C., Jan. 18, 2008 – Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates visited here to see progress made in speeding up delivery of mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicles to warfighters and to thank the people working behind the scenes to save military lives.
The secretary toured the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, a massive warehouse where teams crawled in, on and around nearly 60 of the massive MRAP vehicles on the factory floor, installing radios, sensors, jammers and other equipment.
